Continue the learning journey with the following extension activity:
In PARK RANGERS IN MY STATE, have students imagine that their school is having a career fair where a park ranger is giving a talk about how to get into their career. In this activity, students should write a dialogue with the questions that students might ask the park ranger, as well as the answers they think the park ranger might give. To make sure there is accurate information in the dialogue, your students should do some outside research about the requirements to become a park ranger in their state. Example questions might include how much schooling is required to become a park ranger in their state, what other experience is beneficial, and if there is any difference in the requirements for state versus national park rangers. They should aim for five to seven questions and answers.
