Continue the learning journey with the following extension activity:
In ADS TO SAVE LIVES, have students imagine they are part of a national media campaign aimed at creating awareness about the risks involved in underage drinking. Have students work in small groups to create print or video ads that encourage teens to make good decisions about drinking—and in situations where they might need to call 911. Encourage them to use a variety of persuasive techniques to create their ads. (If students have trouble getting started, consider allowing them to look online for similar ads to use as an example, but remind them to make the ads their own.) At the end, consider holding a vote for the most creative and/or convincing ad.
