Continue the learning journey with the following extension activity:
In BAKERY INTERVIEW, students should imagine that their local bakery is looking for someone to help on the early morning shift. In the first part of the activity, they should all pretend they are the bakery owner. Have them work individually and use the article to write between five and seven interview questions that will help them hire the best person for the job. Once they finish, have them find a partner and take turns interviewing one another using the questions they wrote. At the end of each turn, the interviewer (bakery owner) should tell their partner (the job applicant) whether they will be hired or not! For extra engagement, hold a whole-class discussion where students share whether their partners have what it takes to be a baker or not, and why.
